Brand loyalty is something that a lot of individuals have. More often than not, they would opt to stick to one brand of product or service, despite the fact that there are better ones out in the market. They purchase a product or avail a service repeatedly from a particular seller or service provider out of commitment.

Brand loyalty could also apply to mobile phones and their users. It is pretty common to see consumers stick to a single brand whenever they make purchases. Whether there are better models coming from other brands, the tendency of these hardcore brand loyalists is to keep buying the brand of their choice for as long as they can, updating their units with more advanced versions from the same brand.

However, there is one exception to the rule on brand loyalty, and that is in choosing the mobile phone service provider. Although they want to stick with the mobile phone unit of their choice, consumers want to use more than one service provider at a time. However, this is hampered by the fact that a lot of mobile phones being sold are locked to only one telco.


To overcome this limitation, individuals came up with ways on how to unlock TMobile Sidekick 2008 and other mobile phones to give them freedom to choose their preferred mobile phone service provider. A lot of websites on the Internet have sprung up, offering people services on how to unlock their mobile phones and enjoy the privileges that open-line phones have.

So far, the telcos are not keen towards selling unlocked phones to consumers. This gives those with the nerve to go up against telcos to develop ways to unlock TMobile Sidekick and other mobile phones more than ever.

The development of ways to unlock TMobile Sidekick and other mobile phones in order to switch from one telco to another is proof that brand loyalty does have exceptions. While some would prefer to stick with a specific brand, they would love to switch networks when they have the freedom to do so. To consumers, it will always be utility over loyalty, most of the time.
